Home of Prayer

When the kids were little we always had evening prayer before they went to bed. It didn't matter if we had company or not. In fact,  the company was always invited to join in if they wanted to.

Today I realized it has been a quite some time since we all got down on our knees together for our evening prayers. I miss that part of our routine so maybe our family can bring that back into our lives.

We do however, offer grace before each and every meal and snack. I am happy to hear my boys offer up a prayer so humble, yet confident when asked to say the blessing.  

I feel like we do have a home of prayer but I know we can do better.

Blog In A Box

I haven't tweaked anything yet, so I look like a blog in a box. My sidebar content shows up in the blog column once in awhile. It's very random. I did a google search for help with WordPress and came up with a few very helpful websites. Lorelle on WordPress was probably the best site I found for help with installing widgets and making this blog look like my own. I might even join in her challenges once I figure out how to manage my blogging time. I'm impatient. I want this to be my blog and I want it right now. lol

Get Up And Move

I have decided to make a big change in my every day routine and I hope to make it a daily habit.

Adding to my daily routine:

• I don't watch much tv, but when I'm watching tv I will get up and walk, march in place, or dance during the length of  commercial breaks.


• When I'm on the computer I will get up and walk, march in place, or dance every 15 minutes. I'm not usually on the computer very long, but if last night is any sign of what is to come I'll be getting plenty of exercise lol

I'm not getting enough exercise and I know it. Hence, the reason for the big change in my routine. Maybe it isn't such a big change, but it is a change. I'm concerned about my health and I need to lose some weight so this will be good to add into the day.

Little Women

Isn't this adorable! I'm finding way too many cute things to decorate my blog with. I found this at Christian Women Online. The picture is linked to their website so you can click it to visit the CWO site.

I love that quote and one of my favorite songs is Come My Yoke is Easy. I wonder if that is the title of the song. We sing it all the time in church so I know the words and I don't need to open the book to the page.  You know how it goes, out of sight out of mind.

I found another cool tool on the CWO site. It's the webring. I'm linked to it, see the sidebar. I doubt I'm in their list yet, but it shouldn't take too long. At least I wouldn't think so.

Is it this late? Oh my goodness! Whatever happened to early to bed, early to rise! I think I'll set a timer when I get online tomorrow.

New Adventures

I'm excited to start a new journey tonight. For the better part of the day I was thinking about this idea I had. I want to start a blog.  I know writing in a blog is not a new idea. But for me its new, and I couldn't stop thinking about it! Because of my busy schedule here at home I was planning on starting in the morning. But then, you know how when you start thinking about something you can't stop, you can't sleep, you can't concentrate on anything except the one thought you have in mind.

Well that's me! After church tonight I thought no way will I get any sleep if I don't at least figure out where my blog is going to be.  So many options for starting a blog. There are all the mommy blog sites, Christian blog sites, homeschool blog sites, blogger, etc....

As you see, I chose wordpress.

I haven't figured it all out yet but I like the control panel wordpress uses. It's pretty easy to navigate. I need to figure out a few things here and there but I'm excited to be starting this new adventure!

Now I wonder how to find people interested in reading my blog.
